Seamless Workforce Data Integration Enhances Nursing Performance and Care Quality

Press Ganey and UKG Partner to Streamline NDNQI Submissions and Advance Nursing Excellence

Through a new collaboration between Press Ganey and UKG, health systems leveraging both platforms can now automate the process of submitting data to the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI), the nation’s most robust source for benchmarking nursing performance. The integration enables direct data transfer from the UKG Pro Workforce Management suite into the NDNQI platform, eliminating time-intensive manual entry, minimizing errors, and allowing nurse leaders to redirect focus toward clinical improvement and patient care.

One major not-for-profit health system, operating over two dozen acute care hospitals across several states, has already adopted the integration as part of the NDNQI early access program. By automating the consolidation and submission of workforce data, the organization reported saving one to two weeks of manual effort per quarter.

Amid rising staffing challenges and increasing pressure to meet quality benchmarks, this integration ensures nursing teams are better equipped with timely, actionable insights.

Benefits to Healthcare Leaders Include:

·       Automated workforce data transfers that reduce errors and administrative load

·       Streamlined, direct integration to simplify and accelerate NDNQI submissions

·       Faster access to insights that support Magnet® recognition and broader performance goals

·       Stronger alignment between staffing operations and clinical quality initiatives

“As nursing shortages and burnout continue to strain the system, UKG remains committed to providing tools that help care teams thrive,” said Nanne Finis, Chief Nursing Executive at UKG. “By joining forces with Press Ganey, we’re helping organizations better manage data and empower nurses to deliver high-quality care.”

Jeff Doucette, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN, Chief Nursing Officer at Press Ganey, added, “A high-performing healthcare workforce starts with the right data at the right time. This integration enables nursing teams to focus on driving improvement and delivering exceptional care, not paperwork.”
