What You Should Know
- Global healthcare consulting, managed services, and technology solutions company Tegria announced its strategic acquisition of CloudWave, a full-service healthcare-exclusive cloud hosting, managed IT, and cybersecurity services provider.
- Marks a major corporate expansion milestone: this represents Tegria’s first acquisition since becoming a portfolio company of Altaris, a New York-based healthcare investment firm managing more than $9 billion in equity capital, earlier in 2026.
- Directly addresses acute hospital infrastructure and cyber threat vulnerabilities: integrates CloudWave’s dedicated healthcare Security Operations Center (SOC), 24/7 threat detection and incident response, and sovereign clinical cloud hosting directly into Tegria’s enterprise services portfolio.
Unifying Application Hosting with 24/7 Security Operations
Tegria has established a broad footprint across North American and European healthcare, deploying a team of over 1,000 professionals across more than 650 provider and payer clients. While the firm earned top accolades in KLAS evaluations—including the #2 ranking for Overall IT Services Firm in the 2026 Best in KLAS: Software & Services report—health systems have increasingly demanded that digital transformation partners take direct custody of infrastructure reliability and perimeter defense.
CloudWave brings to Tegria an infrastructure engine explicitly engineered for healthcare:
- Healthcare-Exclusive Private and Hybrid Cloud: Specialized private hosting and public cloud managed services tailored for mission-critical clinical workloads, including MEDITECH, Epic, and imaging PACS archives.
- Specialized Security Operations Center (SOC): A dedicated, 24/7/365 healthcare security operations center delivering continuous intrusion monitoring, behavioral anomaly detection, and rapid incident response to community and specialty hospitals.
- Managed IT and Tier 1 Operations: End-to-end technical support designed to relieve rural and regional health systems of the burden of maintaining round-the-clock server maintenance, backup redundancy, and disaster recovery environments.
Under the transaction structure, CloudWave Chief Executive Officer Erik Littlejohn joins the combined organization as President of Tegria’s Enterprise Technical Solutions. Littlejohn will lead the operational integration, overseeing a portfolio that spans cloud hosting, cybersecurity, data and analytics, and Tier 1 application operations.
“Healthcare organizations face unprecedented operational complexity and heightened cybersecurity risks,” said Craig Mengert, Chief Executive Officer of Tegria. “By bringing CloudWave into the Tegria family, we are strengthening our ability to deliver highly secure, scalable, and resilient hosting solutions. Our combined capabilities create an end-to-end solutions partner equipped to support healthcare organizations through every stage of their digital evolution.”
